Shiraz Balolia lives with his family in Bellingham, WA and operates several companies including Grizzly Industrial, Inc., South Bend Lathe Co. and Woodstock International, Inc.
Born and raised in Kenya, Shiraz moved to North America in the early '70s and has been shooting for over 35 years. He is a three-time Washington State champion and holds several National records in F-Class shooting. He served as vice captain of the 2009 World Championship team and was one of the eight shooters on the U.S. F-Class Open Team at the World Championship held in Bisley, England in July 2009. He won a silver medal as part of the team, won a bronze medal in the 800 yard event and won a gold medal in the International Team event where he was one of four U.S. Team shooters. He also won two silver medals and a bronze medal in the long distance Imperial Matches held around the same time in Bisley. He won gold medals at 1000 yards at the 2010 and 2012 U.S. F-Class National Championships. More recently, he won the Berger SW Nationals held in Phoenix in Feb 2013. This event was attended by the best F-Class shooters in the country. He holds an NRA classification of High Master in Long Range, Mid Range and Full Bore F-Class shooting.
His other hobbies include salt water fishing for salmon and halibut, crabbing, building guitars, metalworking and playing racquet sports, all of which take a back seat to shooting.
