Bob pursued his passion for competitive shooting when he retired from a career in heavy highway construction, in 1994. He currently manages his family farms. Bob has successfully competed individually in both Palma and F-Class shooting, and as a target rifle and F-class coach, at the state, regional, national, and international level. In 2005, Bob coached the winning USA Rutland Cup team at the F-Class World Championships. In 2006, he coached the winning national high civilian team, in the Wimbledon Cup, at the USA Nationals, using target rifles. He was a coach on the USA Palma Teams in 2007 and 2011 and the 2009 F-Class Open World Team. In 2009, Bob was the head coach on the U.S. National TR Team that successfully competed in Canada to win all 3 National Team events, a first for a U.S. team!
When not shooting, you might find Bob at a poker table, a reloading bench or enjoying a good glass of wine! He also accompanies his wife of 40 years, Patricia, on many genealogical research trips. Bob enjoys Iowa country living, but not so much the yard work! He very much appreciates the international friendships he has made throughout his shooting career. Bob is currently a coach on the USA National Target Rifle Team and the head coach of the U.S. F-Class Open Team. He is extremely proud to be part of this F-Class Open Team.
